It is possible to explore the west coast by the ferries of Caledonian MacBrayne. One possible route in the summer is given below, but note that some routes only operate on certain days.

10. Colonsay - Port Askaig (only Wednesday and Saturdays)

11. Port Askaig - Kennacraig

12. Claonig - Lochranza

13.Brodick - Ardrossan
